Job summary

Stonewall Kitchen in Maine seeks a Manufacturing Mechanic to maintain and repair manufacturing equipment and the environment to meet safety and regulatory standards.

You will perform preventative maintenance, inspect equipment, train line operators on safety, and coordinate with vendors to minimize downtime while ensuring clean, efficient changeovers.

This hands-on role requires a tech or trade school background, 5+ years of relevant maintenance experience, and a valid Maine driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • Technical or trade school graduate.
  • 5+ years’ experience in maintenance/repair of production equipment.
  • State of Maine boiler maintenance license (4th class or higher) preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with no restrictions.
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, reach, climb ladders, lift 50 lbs. on occasion and stand for several hours at a time.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on all manufacturing equipment and maintain accurate and thorough records.
  • Conduct regular inspection of equipment to identify repairs needed, safety issues, etc.
  • Assist in training Manufacturing Line Operators on safety programs that relate to maintenance, (i.e., lock-out/tag-out program).
  • Recommend, evaluate, and install new equipment and/or line improvements.
  • Review and work towards reducing production downtime caused by equipment issues.
  • Coordinate and oversee maintenance and repairs using outside vendors to ensure timely completion within approved budget.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas.
  • Ensure equipment is designed for timely and efficient change-overs.
  • Continuously improve the process/equipment with a focus on safety, quality and efficiency.
  • Maintain adequate supply of spare parts.
  • Respond to off-hours calls for building and equipment issues as needed.
  • Follow and train staff on all company policies and procedures for safety, quality, and sanitation with regard to maintenance and equipment, including food safety.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned including assisting with other facilities and mechanical repairs as needed.
  • May be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week periodically as business needs require, including evenings and weekends.
  • Exhibit and promote manufacturing teamwork guidelines.
