Job summary

Engine Power Components in Grand Haven, MI is seeking a Manufacturing Manager to lead operations, develop robust processes, and build nimble, reliable systems to support growth and continuous improvement.

Ideal candidates will have a bachelor's degree in engineering or related field, 10+ years of leadership in manufacturing (automotive preferred), deep knowledge of IATF 16949, and expertise in lean, Six Sigma and CI. ERP proficiency and strong communication are essential.

• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing (automotive preferred).
• Strong working knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements and audits.
• Expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement.
• Proven ability to lead, mentor and develop teams; strong communication skills.
• Proficient with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned departments per EPC policies, including staffing, training, and development.
• Partner with leadership to develop and execute the Annual Operating Plan (AOP).
• Monitor OEE, scrap, downtime, throughput; implement corrective actions.
• Ensure IATF 16949 compliance and maintain audit readiness.
• Champion lean initiatives to optimize cost, efficiency, and resources.
• Drive production scheduling and control to minimize inventory and ensure on-time delivery.
• Implement visual management on the shop floor to improve accountability.
• Mentor and develop shift supervisors and team leaders.

If it has an engine, we probably supply a camshaft for that application. As Manufacturing Manager, you will:

• Lead assigned departments in alignment with EPC policies and practices, including staffing, training, performance management, and employee development.
• Partner with leadership to develop and execute the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), including forecasting, resource planning, cost targets, and efficiency goals.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (OEE, scrap, downtime, throughput) and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 standards and customer‑specific requirements; maintain audit readiness.
• Champion lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize cost, efficiency, and resource utilization.
• Drive production scheduling and control to minimize inventory while supporting sales and on‑time delivery objectives.
• Implement visual management systems on the shop floor to improve accountability and reduce reliance on tribal knowledge.
• Mentor and develop shift supervisors and team leaders to build a stronger leadership pipeline.

As an ideal candidate for Manufacturing Manager, you would:

• A bachelor’s degree in engineering, Operations, Business, or related field.
• At least 10 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing (automotive preferred).
• Strong working knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements, with experience leading audits and sustaining compliance.
• Expertise in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement.
• A proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high‑performing teams.
• Excellent decision‑making, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
