Job description

Manufacturing Maintenance Technician I

Location: 2434 E. Pecan Road, Phoenix, AZ 85040

Selected candidates will need to complete additional plant paperwork prior to their first day.

Payrate: $32.00 per hour

The role will be onsite at the Phoenix, AZ Ice Cream Plant, working 6 days a week during the busy season. Currently, the schedule is 5 days a week, with a shift from 9pm to 5:30am.

This is a new maintenance tech position with potential for extension and conversion to FTE based on performance. Flexibility in schedule, including weekends, is required, with overtime during busy seasons.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Perform maintenance supporting TPM and RCM initiatives.
  2. Complete work order documents and reports accurately.
  3. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance.
  4. Participate in continuous improvement processes.
  5. Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
  6. Follow SOPs for maintenance tasks.
  7. Use Safeway computer applications for data entry and transactions.
  8. Comply with government safety regulations.
  9. Manage relationships with internal and external customers.
  10. Work safely following safety standards and regulations.
  11. Contribute to a world-class manufacturing environment.
  12. Maintain equipment for maximum production, quality, safety, and cost efficiency.
  13. Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions.
  14. Ensure GMP and safety policy compliance.
  15. Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Certifications:

HS Diploma or GED equivalent.

Qualifications:
  • 2-5 years of maintenance technician experience.
  • Basic computer skills; familiarity with Microsoft Office and Teams is a plus.
  • Knowledge of valves, gaskets, seals, and HTST process.
  • Ability to read blueprints.
  • Willingness to learn multiple tasks in a cross-functional environment.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Team player.
  • Knowledge of electrical theory and PLC programming is desirable.

Safety equipment, including PPE, goggles, ear protection, and steel-toed boots, will be provided and must be worn.
