Maintenance Technician, 1st Shift

PrideStaff San Diego is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join a reputable manufacturing client. This is a temporary-to-permanent opportunity, offering up to $30.00 per hour DOE.

Schedule: Full-time, 1st shift, Wednesday - Sunday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, with training on Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.

Job Overview

The maintenance technician repairs and maintains electrical, mechanical, laser, hydraulic, pneumatic, and optical manufacturing equipment. Responsibilities include equipment modifications, maintaining spare parts inventory, coordinating external services, and performing scheduled preventive maintenance.

Requirements

• Minimum three years of recent experience in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Maintenance
• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, laser, hydraulic, pneumatic, and optical equipment and safety policies
• Ability to perform Machine Shop functions: Mill, Lathe, Surface Grinder
• Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel
• Team-oriented attitude
• Excellent work ethics, including punctuality
• Willingness to learn client processes and procedures
• AA/AS Diploma, Trade School, or equivalent experience
• Physical ability to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly

Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate in improving facility safety
• Minimize equipment downtime to maximize productivity
• Document Preventive Maintenance activities
• Perform and improve PM procedures
• Procure and manage spare parts inventory
• Troubleshoot and repair various equipment failures
• Implement maintenance plan improvements
• Assist in releasing new or modified equipment per validation instructions
• Communicate observations and recommendations effectively
• Willing to work overtime as needed
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Moderate to heavy physical effort required
• Regularly sit, stand, reach, bend, push/pull, and walk within the facility
• Exposure to metals, lubricants, solvents, electrolytes, and other hazardous materials

Work Environment

• Work occurs in manufacturing and office settings
• Possible exposure to high noise levels
• Willingness to wear client-provided t-shirts, safety glasses, safety shoes, and other PPE as required
