Job summary

A leading company in manufacturing is seeking a Manufacturing Maintenance Technician to support production operations. This role involves maintaining mechanical and electrical systems, performing preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting issues in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should have strong electrical diagnostics skills and mechanical troubleshooting capabilities. Flexibility in work hours and the ability to work on-call are essential, along with good communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Experience with 120 Volt and 240/480 Volt Electrical Equipment.
  • Able to read schematics, manuals and blueprints.
  • Welding experience preferred or strong Electrical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain production, research, facilities, and mechanical/electrical systems.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Document all work performed on maintenance orders.

Job description

Manufacturing Maintenance Technician

Job ID:MMM-PA

Location:West Hills ,PA area

Pay: $25 up to $32 hourly + Overtime and employee benefits package

Shift / Schedule: Monday – Friday: day shift (depending on needs, days and times will need to be flexible)

In this role you will be responsible for maintaining production, research, facilities, process equipment, and mechanical/electrical systems for safe efficient operation. Duties will involve preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance in a fast-paced demanding manufacturing environment. May need to work on different shifts based on coverage demands and be available for “On Call” during off hours, weekends, holidays, and able to work alone as well as within a team.

Job Duties:

  • Uses tools ranging from hand and power tools to precision measuring and alignment instruments and electrical and electronic test equipment.
  • Performs routine preventive maintenance activities to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, utility systems operate efficiently and maximizes equipment uptime.
  • Inspects, operates, or tests machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and improve efficiencies.
  • Troubleshoots mechanical and electrical problems and determines how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary.
  • Repairs electrical control and power wiring, electrical or electronic components such as proximity, photo eye, pushbutton and limit switches, control circuits and 4-20mA analog control systems
  • Familiar with: VFD’s, PLC’s, Remote I/O, DC Speed Controllers, AC/DC Motors and Motor Controls.
  • Knowledge of mechanical power transfer systems such as gear reducers, chain/belt drives, direct drives, bearings, shafts and couplings.
  • Knowledge of 480-volt 3 phase power distribution such as transformers, Motor Control Centers, power panels.
  • Knowledge and experience with pneumatic operated control valve actuators and solenoid devices.
  • Documents all work performed, hours, parts and follow up work on maintenance work orders.
  • Basic knowledge of utility systems such as compressors, boilers, and water systems.
  • Handle ordering supplies when required.
  • Optionally, we will hire someone with core strengths in mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance and welding skills

Qualifications:

  • Experienced with: 120 Volt and 240/480 Volt 3 Phase Electrical Equipment and Distribution Systems
  • Experienced with: Control circuits, Motor Starters, Frequency Drives, and Transformers
  • Hands on mechanical troubleshooting
  • PLC troubleshooting
  • Basic knowledge of Email, Word and Excel.
  • Routine preventive maintenance experience
  • Commercial Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Systems experience (optional)
  • Welding experience (optional or in place of strong Electrical skills)
  • Able to read and understand: schematics, manuals and blueprints
  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver License
  • No physical limitation or concerns
  • Good communication skills – English
  • Able to work a flexible day shift scheduled with OT as needed
