Manufacturing Maintenance Technician (BH-381813-1)

Location: Durham, United States
Sector: Manufacturing & Production
Salary: $26.45 to $30.00/Hr.

Yoh Scientific is recruiting for a Manufacturing Maintenance Tech to work a contract assignment in Durham, NC.

Duration: One year with possibility of extension and/or being hired on.

Pay Rate: $26.45/Hr. to $30.00/Hr.

Shift: 7:00PM-7:30AM, A Shift (2-2-3 shift)

Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the manufacturing automated equipment in a GMP facility. Responsibilities include the performance of Preventive and Corrective maintenance through mechanical and/or electrical troubleshooting. The role requires active contribution to root cause failure analysis and continuous improvement of departmental systems and infrastructure. The ultimate goal is to support production in achieving output goals by maintaining equipment to perform as designed, thereby delivering a quality product. Role is 70% mechanical and 30% electrical.

Primary Duties:

• Maintain and troubleshoot automated mechanical and electrical systems with minimal supervision.
• Ensure that the automated mechanical and electrical systems meet and exceed the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) goals determined by World Class Manufacturing standards to support business demands.
• Perform corrective maintenance and preventative maintenance activities in compliance with site documentation and change control requirements.
• Document and improve procedures to ensure that the information is communicated and/or documented for compliance, history, and reliability.
• Adhere to FDA Regulations, GMP, ISO, HSE (OSHA).

Experience:

• Associates degree in electronics technology or related discipline preferred with at least 2 years of relevant electrical/mechanical equipment manufacturing experience. In lieu of degree, 4 years of industry experience may be considered. Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read ladder logic, troubleshoot and repair PLCs, electrical systems, AC/DC drive systems, and mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in machining, welding, and fabricating is a plus.
• Experience in the operation of high-speed, highly automated mechanical and electrical systems (preferably in a regulated environment) is desired.
• Basic Computer Skills required; must be experienced and proficient in the use of Email, Windows Operating Systems, and Basic Microsoft Office tools (specifically Word & Excel).
• GMP experience (including knowledge of change control, validation, and commissioning processes) is desired.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Perform and document preventative maintenance with a focus on constant improvement of existing procedures.
• Follow all site Safety Policies/OSHA policies including requirements related to personal protection equipment.
• Document work in a cGMP compliant manner.
• Take an active role in continuous equipment improvement and infrastructure improvement toward implementing a reliable maintenance program.
• Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Ability to remain in a stationary position, often standing, for prolonged periods. Ability to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and similar. Ability to wear PPE correctly most of the day. Ability to operate heavy machinery. Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds.
