Job summary

Briggs & Stratton is seeking a hands‑on Maintenance Supervisor to lead a skilled maintenance crew across equipment, buildings, and grounds, ensuring safe, efficient production. You will guide preventive maintenance, coordinate repairs, and mentor a diverse team to keep shifts productive and compliant with safety policies.

The role requires five years of industrial maintenance experience, a technical degree or equivalent, and strong problem solving and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent education and experience
• At least five years of industrial maintenance experience in assembly or machining environments
• Working knowledge spanning machinery, carpentry, electrical, and related manufacturing maintenance processes
• Strong problem‑solving ability across a variety of personnel and technical situations
• Effective interpersonal skills to motivate and engage a diverse workforce
• Fluent in English and the primary language used in your area/location

Responsibilities

• Allocate work and match technician strengths to the right tasks across machinery, facilities, and grounds
• Coach, train, and motivate team members to elevate productivity, collaboration, and morale
• Own the preventive maintenance program—implement, monitor, and continuously improve it
• Partner with operations to align maintenance with production schedules and minimize downtime
• Direct emergency responses after hours to stabilize equipment, ensure safety, and restore operations
• Model strict adherence to plant maintenance policies, procedures, and safety standards
• Manage core people‑leadership duties: recruiting, onboarding, performance coaching, work planning/assignment, EEO/AA practices, and department budgeting

Step into a hands‑on leadership role where you guide a skilled maintenance crew across equipment, buildings, and grounds to keep production moving safely and efficiently. You’ll set the pace for preventive maintenance, coordinate repairs, and mentor a diverse team—so every shift ends stronger than it began.

Target shift: 1:30 p.m.–10:30 p.m.

A day in this role
