Job summary

Albertsons is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic II to ensure electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment operates effectively and to perform preventative maintenance at the Clackamas Dairy Plant.

You will work on conveyors, chillers, robots, PLCs and more, diagnosing issues, repairing components, and keeping logs. The role requires safety compliance, teamwork, and willingness to work nights with potential overtime.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in a manufacturing/production environment.
  • Experience with mechanical and/or electrical repair.
  • Knowledge of fabrication, machine shop tools, hydraulics and/or pneumatics.
  • Ability to read and follow schematics, electrical diagrams, and blueprints.
  • LME (Limited Maintenance Electrical) License preferred.
  • OSHA 10/CPR nice to have prior experience

Responsibilities

  • Observes all company safety policies and procedures as well as maintain good housekeeping, GMP and Global Food Safety practices
  • Lockout/Tagout procedures
  • Identify complex problems with mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic issues on all equipment and implement solutions
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them using manuals and diagrams
  • Dismantle and reassemble machines to fit or replace parts
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when maintenance is needed
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner and complete maintenance reports
  • Maintain plant equipment to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Work with vendors/contractors as required
  • Order spare parts or services as required
  • Implement operational improvements to reduce downtime and improve line speeds
  • Train others to operate equipment safely and efficiently
  • Maintain organization of spare parts and a clean work area
  • Complete special projects and duties as assigned
  • Continuously monitor and inspect production equipment
  • Rebuild/fabrication of equipment, welding mild and stainless steel
  • Maintain logs and records
  • Investigate electrical and instrument equipment failures and develop action plans

Summary
  • As a Maintenance Mechanic II you will be ensuring the operation of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic & pneumatic equipment and completing preventative maintenance.

  • Location: Clackamas Dairy Plant - 16800 S.E. Evelyn St, Clackamas, OR 97015
  • Manager is looking for additional support.
  • Hourly Payrate for role is up to $36.97.
  • Candidates must have all requirements for this rate.
Work Schedule
  • 3rd shift/graveyard 10pm to 6:30 am 5 days a week 8 hours a day.
  • The worker must be open to working at least one weekend day, and overtime.
  • Is there a possibility this assignment will be extended? Yes
  • Is there a possibility this assignment will convert to full time? Yes
  • Candidate must join onsite union once they have converted to full time.
  • Candidate must be eligible to be employed for an indefinite duration with out limited work authorization.
Responsibilities
  • Observes all company safety policies and procedures as well as maintain good housekeeping, GMP and Global Food Safety practices

  • Identification of complex problems with mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, hydraulic issues on all associated equipment (conveyors, compressors, chillers, programmable controllers, robots); review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them- checking blueprints- repair manuals- or parts catalogues- as necessary
  • Dismantle and reassemble machines to fit or replace necessary parts
  • Able to understand and complete Preventative Maintenance based on Preventative Maintenance schedules
  • Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed
  • Responsive to maintenance requests in a timely manner and complete maintenance reports as required
  • Maintain plant equipment to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Ability to work with vendors and/or contractors as required
  • Ensure spare parts or services are ordered as required
  • Implement operational improvements (spoilage, downtime, line speeds, etc.)
  • Train others to operate equipment and produce products safely and efficiently
  • Maintain organization of spare parts
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor
  • Complete special projects and duties as assigned
  • Continuously monitor and physically inspect production equipment
  • Rebuild/ fabrication of equipment

  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation
