Job summary

KIK Consumer Products in Mars, PA is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I for the 2nd shift to schedule and perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment and to handle emergency repairs to keep production running smoothly.

The onsite role offers $30–$33 per hour with a $2 shift differential and a $5,000 sign-on bonus. Training on 1st shift (Mon–Thu 9:00am–5:00pm) is required for 30–60 days before transitioning to evenings.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED; technical certification preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience maintaining industrial equipment in manufacturing.
• Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment.
• Must be able to work in a manufacturing setting and adhere to safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, monitors, and tests machinery and equipment.
• Dismantles defective machines and installs repaired parts.
• Cleans, lubricates, and maintains shafts, bearings, gears and related components.
• Sets up and maintains hydraulic and pneumatic systems and gauges.
• Notifies managers of equipment problems and assists in solving issues.
• Performs line changeovers and supports process changes.
• Upholds safety and housekeeping standards.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Your Role at KIK

As Maintenance Mechanic I - 2nd Shift you will be responsible for scheduling and performing routine preventative maintenance and service for each piece of equipment. The Maintenance Mechanic will perform emergency repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical, electrical and hydraulic and identify and replace worn or defective parts in a timely manner.

This onsite opportunity is based at our Mars, PA manufacturing facility, supporting 2nd Shift (Monday–Thursday 4:45pm-2:45am), with overtime opportunities available. We offer a competitive pay range of $30.00–$33.00 per hour, plus a $2.00 shift differential for working 2nd shift and a $5,000 sign-on bonus. Must be able to work 1st shift for 30-60 days for training, Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Inspects, monitors, and tests machinery and equipment
• Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts
• Cleans and lubricates Shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery
• Assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment
• Develop sufficient understanding of all machinery used in the production process to ensure proper functioning procedures
• Adheres to all safety rules and regulations and maintains good housekeeping in all related areas
• Performs line changeovers to different products, including set-up of dilution system to proper specs
• Notifies Production Manager and Plant Manager of any equipment problems. As well as analyzing and resolving equipment problems or assisting others in solving problem’s in a helpful and timely manner
• Additional duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring

• High School Diploma or GED required; Technical certification preferred
• A Minimum of 2 years’ experience installing, repairing, and maintaining industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment required
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to perform in a manufacturing environment
• Excellent Interpersonal, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Time Management and Organization; Ability to multi-task and react to changing priorities
• Farming equipment and auto mechanic experience is also a plus
