Job summary

RRD in Wisconsin is seeking an Electrical Technician for 1st Shift (6:00 AM – 2:00 PM) to install, modify, repair, and troubleshoot electrical lines, circuits, and equipment on manufacturing machinery. The role offers pay between $26 and $41 per hour, with additional pay possible based on experience.

You will work to ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards, use hand and power tools, diagnose faults, and support die, glue, conveyor and other production systems; pre-employment

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of construction, installation, operation, and troubleshooting of sophisticated circuitry and controls.
• Ability to lay out electrical circuits and wire test setups for performance measurements.
• Familiarity with safety systems and interlocks for complex equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install, modify, repair, troubleshoot, test, and load new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, and fixtures.
• Install, repair electrical systems and components of machinery and equipment following codes and diagrams.
• Connect power supply wiring and cables between machines and equipment, using hand tools and test equipment.
• Replace motors and plan wiring layouts; diagnose malfunctioning transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures.

Job Description

1st Shift: 6:00 Am to 2:00 PM

Compensation: 26$-41$/hr (additional pay can be alocated if justified by experience)

• Install, modify, repair, troubleshoot, test, and load new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment.
• Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
• Install, modify, repair, maintain, troubleshoot, test, and load new and existing electrical lines, circuits, systems, and associated fixtures, controls, and equipment.
• Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment.
• Installs power supply wiring and conduct for newly installed machines and equipment, conveyors, and programmable controllers, following electrical code, using hand tools and voltage tester.
• Repairs and maintains, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, such as die units, glue units, conveyor systems, bindery equipment, etc. using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and testing instruments. May repair or reproduce parts using welders or machine tools such as drill presses, or other machine shop equipment.
• Follows electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications.
• Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment, using hand tools and test equipment.
• Replaces AC/DC motors. May plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
• Detects malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using test equipment, and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables, using hand tools.
• May diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
• Perform tasks safely in accordance with OSHA and LOTO standards.

Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of the construction, installation, operation, and troubleshooting of sophisticated circuitry and controls associated with unique projects
• Examples include ability to formulate the layout sketch of required electrical circuits, wire new test setups, install strain gauge circuits and recording instruments as needed by the test program to measure performance of test articles, check the installed system to insure that specified electrical test conditions are attained, and may troubleshoot the electrical portions of the test equipment during test programs to determine cause of malfunction
• Critical limits are controlled by intricate interlock of safety systems of novel design and great complexity
• Knowledge and ability to anticipate and respond quickly to danger signs as they become evident through intricate warning systems to avoid loss of time and expensive equipment
• Must have skill in the use of hand tools, power tools and test equipment needed to perform job effectively
• Knowledge of electronics to electronic components such as resistors, capacitors, and transistors
• Applicable licenses or certifications required to perform these tasks.

Additional Information

The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include overtime, shift differential.
