Job summary

Fastenal Co. is seeking a Manufacturing Maintenance team member in Wallingford, CT to maintain and repair CNC equipment and facility systems. You will perform scheduled preventative maintenance, troubleshoot machinery faults, and execute repair orders to keep operations safe and efficient.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Possess a current full valid driver's license and driving record suitable for company vehicle use.
  • Education in Industrial Maintenance Technical program or 2+ years related work experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong math aptitude with attention to detail.
  • Proficient computer skills and ability to learn multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team, with willingness to work at heights over 25 feet.
  • Demonstrate core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repair of CNC equipment, including troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Perform forklift maintenance, manual machine repair, and general preventative maintenance.
  • Move and position equipment as needed.
  • Welding and fabrication for repairs or building support equipment.
  • Assist hydraulic and pneumatic operations.
  • Overhaul plumbing and pumping systems as required.
  • Perform general building maintenance and repair.

Full-time Shift(s): MON TUE WED THU FRI 6:00am - 2:30pm

OVERVIEW

Workings as Full-time Manufacturing Maintenance team member, you will be directly responsible for keeping Fastenal Manufacturing's equipment and facility in good running order. Manufacturing Maintenance team members are assigned regular preventative maintenance procedures, as well as troubleshooting, identifying machinery faults, and executing repair orders to maintain safe and efficient operation of our manufacturing facilities. This position may offer a flexible schedule after a period of onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performing preventive maintenance and repair of CNC equipment, including troubleshooting and repair of electrical and mechanical systems
  • Performing forklift maintenance, manual machine repair, and preventative maintenance
  • Moving and positioning equipment
  • Welding and fabricating for repairs or building support equipment
  • Assisting in Hydraulic and Pneumatic Operations
  • Plumbing and/or Pump Overhaul
  • Performing general building maintenance and repair
REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Possess a current full valid driver's license issued in the country where the job is located (including successful completion of any applicable graduated license program for your state or province) as well as the ability to meet our driving record requirements to use a company vehicle, as needed
  • Possess or working towards an education in an Industrial Maintenance Technical program OR have at least 2 years of related work experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrate strong math aptitude, attention to detail and sense of urgency
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast paced environment
  • Work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Willingness to work at heights exceeding 25 feet
  • Demonstrate our core values of ambition, innovation, integrity and teamwork
  • Lift, slide, carry and lower packages that typically weigh 25lbs-50lbs and may weigh up to 100lbs
  • Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico and Guam ONLY)
PREFERRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • Possess or working towards related education
  • Prior experience in heat treating equipment and induction heating
  • Prior experience in hydraulics, welding, and metal fabrication
  • Prior electrical experience in 3-Phase, single phase, and 24vdc
  • Prior programmable Logic Controller and Computer Numerical Control (Fanuc and Siemens controls) experience
