Job summary

Gem Care, Inc. is seeking skilled manufacturing machine operators for 2nd shift on a contract-to-hire basis in Morristown, TN area. Training on 1st shift, then transfer to 2nd shift (3:30 PM – 2:00 AM, Mon–Fri).

Starting pay is $16/hr on 1st shift and $18/hr on 2nd shift. PTO of 120 hours after full-time hire; overtime opportunities and benefits package available. This role involves machining, assembling semi-finished goods into finished products, and following detailed operating instructions to

Qualifications

• High school diploma and two years of prior experience preferred but not required.
• Must be able to use and read a tape measure.
• Ability to read and understand assembly manuals, directions and diagrams.
• Ability to read tape measures, blueprints, drawings and technical plans.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and perform accurate work at a rapid pace.

Responsibilities

• Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Develops layout and plans sequence of operations for fabricating and assembling metal products.
• Determines the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job, sets up and operates fabricating machines, controls the operations of equipment or systems.
• Sets up and operates machine tools associated with fabricating, then sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template.
• Measures work piece dimensions, using rule or template, to determine accuracy of machine operation.

Manufacturing Machine Operators - 2nd Shift

We have several immediate openings for experienced machine operators, assemblers, and warehouse workers on 2nd shift in the Kodak/Morristown, TN area. This is a 3 month contract-to-hire and successful candidates must be able to train on 1st shift then transfer to 2nd shift. Starting pay range is $16.00 on 1st shift and $18.00 per hour once on second shift. 2nd Shift hours are 3:30 PM until 2:00 AM (10 hour shifts, Monday through Friday). This is an opportunity to make a good income with the overtime and the client offers an excellent benefits package once hired on full time. The client offers 120 hours of PTO after full time hire (earned at 10 hours of PTO per month).

Job Description

We are seeking skilled manufacturing machine operators. Machining and assembling semi-finished goods and components of a product and then joining the components into a whole finished product.

Key Responsibilities

• Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Develops layout and plans sequence of operations for fabricating and assembling metal products. Examines metal stock or work pieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met.
• Determines the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job, sets up and operates fabricating machines, (such as drill presses, saws, metal-cutting machinery, etc.), controls the operations of equipment or systems and adjusts the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions with precision.
• Sets up and operates machine tools associated with fabricating, then sets stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule, or template. (Operates flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses, to bend, cut form, punch, drill, or otherwise form and assemble metal components).
• Measures work piece dimensions, using rule, template, or other measuring instruments to determine accuracy of machine operation. Verifies conformance of metal to specifications, using various measurement tools.

Requirements & Qualifications

• High school diploma and two years of prior experience preferred but not required.
• Excellent reading, math and problem-solving skills required.
• MUST be able to use and read a tape measure.
• Ability to understand assembly manuals, directions, and the use of diagrams and sketches.
• Ability to read and understand tape measures, blueprints, drawings and technical plans.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and perform accurate work at a rapid pace.
• Ability to use power or hand tools to cut, shim, and make other modifications.
• Good eyesight, with or without glasses, is required for assemblers and fabricators who work with small parts.
• Manual dexterity and the ability to carry out complex, repetitive tasks quickly and methodically.
• Ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
