Job summary

Kennametal is seeking a Manufacturing Machine Operator I - Entry-US for the 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 3pm–11:30pm). Set up and operate an automated Grind line to produce quality parts, working with centerless grinders and robot cells to meet specifications.

You will read blueprints, perform in-process audits, and ensure procedures are followed to maintain output. Training of new operators and routine maintenance are included.

Qualifications

• Read blueprints and resolve quality specification issues during production.
• Perform in-process audits and maintain parts to spec.
• Train new operators when needed and follow procedures for grinding lines.

Responsibilities

• Select an order based on priorities from the area lead or supervisor.
• Measure materials and hold parts to quality specs with in-process audits.
• Follow procedures to run and check grind lines and ensure system operation.
• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot centerless grinders and robot cells to maintain output and quality.
• Read blueprints and report nonconforming items in documentation and MII system.
• Perform daily housekeeping and routine machine maintenance.
• Assist in training new operators as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by area lead or supervisor.

Centerless Grinding

Shift: 2nd shift Mon - Fri 3pm - 11:30pm

Set up and operate an automated Grind line to produce quality products.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Select an order based on priorities provided by the area lead or supervisor.
• Measure raw materials before processing and then hold parts to quality specifications while performing in process audits during cycle runs.
• Follow established procedures for running and checking the grind lines to ensure all systems are operating correctly.
• Set up, operate, & troubleshoot moderate to complex problems on centerless grinders, infeed robot cell, and chamfer robot cell in an efficient timely manner to maintain output and produce parts to specifications.
• Read & understand blueprints and be able to resolve issues related to the quality specifications provided.Separate, identify & report nonconforming from good product and document accurately on the provided paperwork and in the MII reporting system.
• Perform daily housekeeping responsibilities and perform routine machine maintenance (CLI checklist).
• Be able to train new operators when required.
• Perform other job duties as assigned by area lead or supervisor.
