Job summary

Kennametal Stellite Inc. in Rogers, AR is seeking a CNC Operator II to set up, troubleshoot, and run Centerless Grinders and Smart CNC Grinder. This role involves building new programs and maintaining quality parts per specifications.

The position requires working 2nd shift, Mon-Fri, 3pm-11:30pm, with responsibilities across setup, operation, inspection, and process improvement. Experience with CMM and manufacturing equipment is valued.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of CNC operations experience.
  • High level of Mathematics (Trigonometry, Geometry, and Algebra).
  • Must be able to read, interpret and comprehend blueprints.
  • Has skills developed through formal training or work experience.
  • Qualified candidate must possess analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Performs the full range of established procedures and will typically be considered skilled through work experience.
  • Candidate must pass required CUI training and background requirements per customer.

Responsibilities

  • Manufactures sufficient quantities of quality products at or below budgeted production costs to meet marketplace demand.
  • Sets up and operates efficiently to produce quality parts meeting customer specifications.
  • Follows procedures for operating various conventional and CNC manufacturing equipment.
  • Inspects and measures machined parts to specifications using CMM or Keyence IM-8000 Series.
  • Resolves issues related to production, machinery, and processing.
  • Moves materials to complete assignments as needed.
  • Tracks scrap quantities and enters in production MII or SAP.
  • Assists with 8D or 5 Why root cause analysis for quality upsets.
  • Operates two or more CNC machines simultaneously and performs in-process AQL.
  • Sets up and operates Rush Wheel dresser as needed.
  • Balances wheels to maintain stock levels.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by manager.

CNC Operator II

Shift: 2nd, Mon - Fri 3pm - 11:30pm

This position will be responsible for setting up, troubleshooting, help build new programs and operating Centerless Grinders and (Smart CNC Grinder).

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Manufactures sufficient quantities of quality products at or below budgeted production costs in order to meet marketplace demand.
  • Sets up and operate in an efficient timely manner to produce Quality parts to meet customer specifications.
  • Follows established procedures for operating various conventional and/or CNC (computerized numerical control) manufacturing equipment.
  • Inspects and measures machined parts to specifications using CMM(Coordinate measuring machine) or Keyence(IM-8000 Series)
  • Resolves issues related to the organization's production, machinery, and processing.
  • Move all materials, either physically or mechanically, necessary to complete assignments
  • Tracks scrap quantities and enters in production MII or SAP.
  • Assist with 8D or 5 why Root cause analysis for Quality upsets.
  • Operate two or more CNC machines simultaneously and perform in process AQL.
  • Set up and operates Rush Wheel dresser as needed.
  • Balances wheels to maintain stock levels.
  • Preform other duties as assigned by manager.

  • Semi-skilled level position requiring training to complete routine tasks. Performance of routine tasks with a high level of detail meeting quality and production requirements.

  • Works under close supervision with little autonomy
  • Works with clearly defined methods and tasks that are described in detail.
  • Has understanding of and no discretion to deviate from established procedures.
Preferred Areas of Education, Certifications, and Skills
  • 2+ year of CNC operations experience required.
  • High level of Mathematics (Trigonometry, Geometry and Algebra)
