Job summary

Mancan is seeking 1st & 2nd Shift Line Operators for a local company in Ashland, OH. This position is on-site and full-time, with four-day work weeks.

Hours are 6:00am–3:30pm, Monday through Thursday, at $17.00 per hour. The role involves operating equipment safely, following PPE and QA procedures, and supporting changeovers and line operations in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate all assigned equipment safely and efficiently.
• Understand and comply with safe working procedures, including PPE, evacuation procedures, and safe lifting techniques.
• Maintain sanitary conditions on the line.
• Assist Lead Line Operator and Line Mechanic in the changeover of equipment.
• Ensure correct product and components are in the right place and verify load in/load out accuracy.
• Inspect product along the line against quality standards; verify with QA line checks.
• Communicate openly and stay aware of the entire production process; resolve challenges with teammates.
• Assist Lead Line Operator with training of new employees.
• Contribute to a work environment where all employees are treated with dignity and respect.

Duties:

• Understand and comply with safe working procedures, including, but not limited to wearing correct PPE, knowing emergency evacuation procedures, and utilizing safe lifting techniques.
• Maintain sanitary conditions on the line.
• Assist Lead Line Operator and Line Mechanic in the changeover of equipment.
• Ensure the right product and components are in the right place and efficiently used; verify load in/load out accuracy.
• Inspect product throughout the line against predetermined quality standards; verify accuracy through QA line checks.
• Maintain open communication and be thoroughly aware of the entire production process; be ready to resolve challenges with other teammates.
• Assist Lead Line Operator with hands-on training of new employees.
• Contribute to a work environment in which all employees feel treated with dignity and respect.

Work Environment

• Overtime and/or shift changes may be required to meet production needs. Employees must be able and willing to work varying shifts, including weekends, as needed. Advance notice is typically provided, but is not necessarily always possible.
• The job requires exposure to a manufacturing facility requiring a heightened awareness of safety and taking the necessary safety precautions as required by all employees and visitors. The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, chemicals, and heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
• The employee is subject to chemical compounds found in a manufacturing environment.

Physical Demands

• Communicates orally and electronically with co-workers in face-to-face, one-on-one, e-mail, telephone or group settings.
• The employee regularly must be able to complete the following activities in the course of his/her job: lifting, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, pushing, pulling, feeling, grasping, talking, hearing within normal ranges, and repetitive motion.
• The position requires Medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and or a 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Hours: Monday-Thursday 6am-3:30pm

Pay: $17.00/hour
