Job summary

DuPont is seeking a qualifiedAnalytical Laboratory professional to provide high-quality data for product release in support of the Automotive business. The role entails analyzing samples, evaluating data against specifications, and documenting results across shifts while upholding EH&S and quality standards.

Responsibilities include ensuring accurate communication between shifts, managing materials and waste per guidelines, and pursuing process improvements.

Job responsibilities

The following are some key job responsibilities:

• Analyze samples according to the sample plan
• Prioritize and analyze special request samples
• Using tools, evaluate validity of data, apply basic statistics, compare to spec limits, and take appropriate action
• Document, communicate, and archive results
• Follow appropriate retest / resample procedures
• Communicate role related information between shifts, day staff, and manufacturing
• Participate in facility management, including, but not limited to: managing materials & supplies, housekeeping, and managing waste in accordance with RCRA guidelines
• Promote an environment of teamwork while leading through example
• Utilize electronic tools (e.g. Sample Manager, OPD, task list, Outlook, e-MOC, COMPASS, Etc.)
• Identify and participate in plant initiatives opportunities to improve laboratory safety, quality, efficiency, and reliability
• Provide professional communication to customers, co-workers, and leadership
• Maintain compliance with all EH&S, ISO, IATF 16949, operating discipline, and site quality management system requirements
• Achieve personal learning needs utilizing the available learning resources.
• Complete lab and facility training program and maintain qualification on all applicable tests and quality
• Complete additional technical training in accordance with an employee development plan

Preferred Skills

• Previous analytical laboratory experience and/or technical training in analytical chemistry
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word, Sample Manager, and OPD
• Strong mathematical, statistical, and computer skills.
• Ability to interpret specifications, control charts, and quality data

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift 50 lbs.
• Able to work on feet for extended period of time (up to 75% of shift)
• Good manual dexterity and fine motor skills
• Able to work a reasonable amount of overtime per the contract and/or business needs
• Provide coverage on weekends, evenings, nights, and holidays as scheduled, on a regular basis

The role works on a forward rotating 7 & 2 schedule with 12 hour weekends.
