Job summary

Silgan Containers is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator to maintain inventory levels of plant supplies, parts, tooling, lubricants, and chemicals in our Fort Madison, IA manufacturing plant. You will oversee purchasing activities, inventory management, and reporting to help meet production schedules efficiently and cost-effectively.

This on-site role requires strong Excel skills, time management, and the ability to work with maintenance, production, suppliers, and plant leadership to optimize

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Three or more years of manufacturing experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Strong organizational and inventory management skills.
• Willingness to overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain inventory levels of plant parts and supplies.
• Generate purchase orders and coordinate with vendors.
• Manage raw material deliveries and processing activities.
• Monitor inventory consumption, receiving, and replenishment.
• Coordinate end-of-month environmental, inventory, and cost reporting.
• Identify, receive, and store supplies in storeroom and remote areas.
• Maintain reorder points and stock levels to support production.
• Work with supervisors and suppliers to expedite critical parts deliveries.
