Job summary

Ascendo Resources is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support key accounting functions in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has a strong general ledger background and interest in inventory accounting, cost analysis, and process improvement.

Responsibilities include journal entries, month-end close, reconciliations, inventory and cost accounting, reporting, and audits. The role emphasizes compliance with GAAP and driving efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 5+ years of accounting experience.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Salesforce, Rootstock, or similar).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals and adjustments.
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Perform general ledger reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Support inventory accounting, including cycle counts and variance analysis.
• Assist with cost accounting processes, including standard costing and manufacturing variance reviews.
• Prepare financial reports and assist with financial statement preparation.
• Reconcile bank accounts and balance sheet accounts.
• Partner with operations teams to analyze production costs and inventory movements.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting controls.
• Support internal and external audit activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and operational efficiencies.
