Function Job Description

As part of Manufacturing, you’ll use your skills, our systems, and a wide array of raw materials to help create the delicious, finished products our consumers love. While taking ownership in your area of work, you’ll also ensure the safety of yourself and your colleagues while producing our top-quality products reliably and efficiently within our integrated supply chain.

As a Manufacturing - Process Engineer Intern, you will gain hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, working closely with site engineering, operations, and production teams to improve the efficiency, reliability, and overall performance of manufacturing processes. A significant portion of the internship will be spent on the production floor, building an understanding of how products are manufactured, observing day‑to‑day operations, attending production and control meetings, and identifying opportunities to improve how our lines and equipment operate.

Throughout the internship, you may support projects focused on process optimization, loss analysis, waste reduction, equipment performance, and production efficiency. This could include analyzing production data and line performance, identifying sources of downtime or material loss, investigating root causes, and partnering with site teams to develop and implement solutions. Interns may also have the opportunity to lead or participate in Kaizen events and other continuous improvement initiatives, using methodologies and principles such as Lean Six Sigma, World Class Manufacturing (WCM), and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).

Projects may also include updating process maps for specific areas of the plant, evaluating production or packaging processes, optimizing key pieces of equipment, and supporting improvements to standard operating procedures. Interns may work directly with operators and technical teams to understand current processes and help update process documentation, training materials, work instructions, or operating manuals to ensure improvements can be effectively implemented and sustained.

This internship is designed to provide exposure to the full manufacturing environment; from understanding what happens directly on the production line to using data and continuous improvement tools to solve real operational challenges. Interns will collaborate cross‑functionally with production, engineering, maintenance, quality, and other site teams while developing practical experience in process engineering, problem solving, manufacturing excellence, and continuous improvement.
