Job summary

FANUC America is seeking a Manufacturing Installation Engineer to install, test, and implement automated systems on customer sites and factory floors. You will lead robot installation, site coordination, system commissioning, and onsite support, collaborating with engineering teams.

The role requires reading prints, wiring and mechanical understanding, and hands-on programming of robots. Travel 30–65% for installation and commissioning; overtime may be required to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent technical education, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in a related environment.
• Ability to read and interpret prints and related technical documentation.
• Experience in electrical, electronic, pneumatics, hydraulics, mechanical areas.

Responsibilities

• Install, startup, and debug the system from modular build to customer site buyoff and acceptance.
• Teach, modify, and fine tune robot paths and programs.
• Provide prompt, professional customer support and technical assistance.
• Coordinate with Engineering Manager, Project Manager, and project team to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve open issues.
• Follow Engineering Guidelines to comply with product specifications, laws, and regulations.
• Willing to work overtime to meet deadlines; travel 30–65% for installation and commissioning.

Job description

Who You Are

As a Manufacturing Installation engineer, you will install, test, and/or implement state-of-the art Automated Systems for general industry, automotive tier suppliers and automotive companies. Responsibilities include a combination of robot installation, site installation management, system commissioning, robot programming, and onsite support. You will work with other Engineering groups on projects involving the installation and implementation of automated systems at end-user facilities and the manufacturing floor.

How It’s Done

• Install, startup, and debug of the system/unit from modular build at FAC though to installation at customer site until buyoff and customer acceptance.
• Competent to build and debug electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic automated equipment from drawings and supplied documentation.
• Ensure all quality related documentation is completed during build and run off at FAC
• Teach, modify, and fine tune robot paths and programs.
• Provide prompt, professional, and courteous solutions to customer problems.
• Process any and all necessary paperwork and provide the customer/FAC with detailed descriptions of the problem(s) encountered.
• Provide technical support to customers.
• Coordinate responsibilities, activities, parts, and schedule with Engineering Manager, ProjectManager, and project team members as appropriate to ensure customer satisfaction, and the completion of open issues.
• Follow Engineering Guidelines and other standardized procedures to comply with product specifications, laws, and regulations.
• Willing to work overtime when required to meet special deadlines in response to customer requirements.
• Travel will be for installation and commissioning of systems (30-65%).
