Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite, requiring the successful candidate to report to Fort Wayne, Indiana on a full-time basis.

The Role:

As a Group Leader in Production, Quality, or Global Supply Chain (GSC), you will lead teams of employees or technical personnel to drive operational excellence across manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include managing daily operations, developing and improving business processes, and fostering teamwork and collaboration.

You may oversee production activities, quality assurance, inspection, problem-solving, and GM Built-in-Quality initiatives. Independent judgment within the framework of Global Manufacturing Systems is expected, with a focus on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE).

Selected candidates will have the opportunity to develop new skills while contributing to manufacturing advancements supporting the shift toward electric and autonomous vehicles.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and respond promptly to the manufacturing daily plan, making necessary adjustments
  • Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
  • Manage change and navigate ambiguity effectively
  • Drive accountability through people and processes, including difficult conversations if necessary
Physical Requirements:
  • Work in a loud manufacturing environment that may lack climate control, with conditions that can be hot or cold
  • Maintain good physical stamina and coordination to frequently and repetitively:
    • Bend, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach
    • Lift or carry materials up to 15 lbs., occasionally up to 40 lbs.
    • Walk and stand for extended periods
    • Occasionally sit, climb (ladders and lifts), and operate vehicles and equipment
  • Read work instructions, operate machinery, and perform quality inspections
  • Respond promptly to safety instructions, alarms, and signals
  • Wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, hats, ear plugs, and safety shoes
