The General Motors Manufacturing Group is seeking to identify highly motivated and qualified individuals for current and future opportunities as a Group Leader. We encourage you to apply now to begin the pre-screening and interview process.

Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite, requiring the successful candidate to report to Flint, Michigan on a full-time basis.

The Role:

As a Group Leader in Production, Quality, or Global Supply Chain (GSC), you will lead teams of employees or technical personnel to drive operational excellence across manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include managing daily operations, improving business processes, and fostering teamwork and collaboration.

You may oversee production activities, quality assurance, inspection, problem-solving, and GM Built-in-Quality initiatives. You will apply independent judgment within the framework of Global Manufacturing Systems, focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE).

Selected candidates will have the opportunity to develop new skills while contributing to manufacturing advancements supporting electric and autonomous vehicles.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze and respond promptly to the manufacturing daily plan, making necessary adjustments
  • Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
  • Manage change and navigate ambiguity effectively
  • Drive accountability through people and processes, including difficult conversations
Physical Requirements:
  • Work in a loud manufacturing environment with variable climate conditions
  • Maintain good physical stamina and coordination to frequently and repeatedly:
    • Bend, twist, kneel, crouch, reach, and perform work
    • Lift or carry materials up to 15 lbs., occasionally up to 40 lbs.
    • Walk and stand for prolonged periods
    • Occasionally sit, climb (ladders, lifts), and operate vehicles and equipment
  • Read work instructions, operate machines, and perform quality inspections
  • Respond promptly to safety instructions, alarms, and signals
  • Wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, hats, ear plugs, and safety shoes
