Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite, requiring the successful candidate to report to Bay City, Michigan on a full-time basis.

The Role:

As a Group Leader in Production, Quality, or Global Supply Chain (GSC), you will lead teams of employees or technical personnel to drive operational excellence across manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include managing daily operations, developing and improving business processes, and fostering teamwork and collaboration.

You may oversee production activities, quality assurance, inspection, problem-solving, and GM Built-in-Quality initiatives. You will apply independent judgment within the framework of Global Manufacturing Systems, focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE).

This role offers the opportunity to develop new skills and contribute to advancing manufacturing processes supporting the shift toward electric and autonomous vehicles.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and respond promptly to the manufacturing daily plan, making necessary operational adjustments
• Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
• Manage change and navigate ambiguity effectively
• Drive accountability through people and processes, including difficult conversations when necessary

Physical Requirements:

• Work in a loud manufacturing environment that may not be climate-controlled, with conditions that can be hot or cold
• Maintain good physical stamina and coordination to frequently and repetitively:
  • Bend, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach
  • Lift or carry materials up to 15 lbs., occasionally up to 40 lbs.
  • Walk and stand for prolonged periods
  • Occasionally sit, climb (ladders and lifts), and operate vehicles and equipment
• Read work instructions, operate machines and tools, and perform quality inspections
• Respond promptly to safety instructions, alarms, and signals
• Wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, gloves, hats, ear plugs, and safety shoes
