Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. The successful candidate is expected to report to Flint Assembly on a full-time basis.

The Role:

Maintenance Group Leaders:

The Maintenance Group Leader will lead skilled employees to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment and processes.

This role requires administering the National and Local Agreement between General Motors and the United Auto Workers Union. It involves technical work and requires independent judgment within the limits of Global Manufacturing Systems, focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE).

Selected candidates will have the opportunity to learn new skills and influence manufacturing processes supporting the transition to electric and autonomous vehicles.

Responsibilities:

• Read and react to the manufacturing daily plan in real-time
• Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
• Manage change and navigate ambiguity
• Drive accountability through people and processes, including difficult conversations in a unionized environment
• Work effectively with all organizational levels
• Analyze and solve complex problems
• Conduct checks and communicate results
• Recommend solutions to problems
• Perform preventative maintenance and diagnose equipment malfunctions

Required Qualifications:

• At least one year of team supervisory experience or 5 months as an internal GM per diem group leader
• Experience reading electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic blueprints
• Experience managing performance and leading teams in a fast-paced environment
• Problem-solving skills in complex situations
• Strong interpersonal skills and decision-making ability in ambiguous environments
• Basic computer skills (e.g., Word, email)
• Willingness to work weekends and rotating shifts
