Summary of Job Duties
Responsible for operating Fette High Speed Tableting Press and related equipment in the production process. Set up machinery and ensure all production materials are available.
Operate and monitor equipment to achieve efficient high output with the highest quality tablet possible. Replenish materials as needed. Visually inspect product, perform in‑process testing and document results. Determine and report malfunctions to appropriate parties. Maintain cleanliness of equipment and assigned area.
Specific Job Duties
- Ensure that products meet applicable quality standards. Includes inspection for quality during operation and performing all required sampling and testing.
- Assure continuous and smooth operation of the lines for required quality and quantity.
- Meet all safety expectations including wearing the required protective equipment and following safe practices.
- Collect and analyze data using skills in applied math.
- Utilize Redzone Factory Metrics software on company‑issued Apple iPads.
- Perform basic and routine maintenance activities.
- Work outside normal scheduled hours and overtime.
- Use basic hand and power tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, hammers, drills, etc.
- Work in a team environment and help flow to the work and assist others.
- Cross‑training will occur throughout the facility in all aspects of high‑speed manufacturing.
- Ensure Documentation in relation to Processor Operation Logs are fully completed, signed and in compliance with Company Standard and Regulatory Requirements.
- When out of compliance or standards do not meet, assist supervisor in completion of Deviation Report detailing both short‑ and long‑term corrective action steps.
- Ensure full compliance with Companies Policies, Procedures, GMP’s, Code of Safe Practices and SOPs at all times.
- Assist Quality Assurance in obtaining samples of products and other miscellaneous duties.
- Disassemble, clean/sanitize, and reassemble all required equipment.
- Set up, maintain, monitor, adjust equipment, routine maintenance, troubleshoot as necessary to maintain product, quality, and safety specifications.
- Communicate and interact with others in a manner consistent with the company’s “I Can Make a Difference” philosophies.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 1+ years machine operator experience required, preferably on other tableting presses such as Colton Vector, Stokes 238, and Manesty BB4.
- Self‑motivated and ability to take initiative and use sound judgment in day‑to‑day decision making.
- Punctual and reliable in work attendance.
- Flexible and able to manage others.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to speak English; bilingual speaker a plus.
- Working conditions: Loud environment with exposure to powder and heavy equipment in a manufacturing atmosphere.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to read and write legibly in English.
- Ability to work multiple shifts and/or schedules.
Skills and/or Training Desired
- Knowledge in HACCP, Microbiology, Chemical Safety, Pest Control and Quality Systems.
- Data collection, analysis, troubleshooting, and problem solving using defined methodologies.
- Decision making.
