Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to assist in designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to boost efficiency, quality, and safety. You will collaborate with engineers and production teams to ensure high-quality output.

The role requires an associate degree in a technical field, 1–3 years in manufacturing, CAD proficiency, and a hands-on approach to tooling, setup, calibration, and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Hands-on experience with manufacturing tools and equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in setup and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and systems.
  • Support engineers in analyzing production processes to identify improvements.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure manufacturability of new products.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve basic manufacturing issues.
  • Conduct time and motion studies to optimize workflow.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining process documentation and SOPs.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Recommend or assist in designing tools and equipment based on specs.
  • Perform routine calibration of manufacturing equipment.
  • Other tasks as needed by Manager.
