Job summary

ComSonics Manufacturing Solutions in Weyers Cave, VA, seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to join our innovative team. You will collaborate with the engineering group to create, verify, and refine assembly documentation to support consistent production and equipment readiness.

The ideal candidate is detail oriented with a practical mindset, capable of reviewing drawings, supporting prototype builds, and identifying process improvements to boost quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field preferred.
• One year of experience in a manufacturing, electronic, or engineering environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in using basic hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings and documentation for completeness, accuracy, and interface with mating assemblies.
• Write clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation using plain language for Manufacturing to repeatedly produce products.
• Assist in prototype builds of new assemblies and conduct training for staff.
• Identify process improvements to enhance quality, improve productivity, or reduce costs.
• Initiate and assist with implementation of Engineering Change Notices.
• Understand and perform programming and operational functions for key equipment: AOI, Pick and Place, Wavesolder, Aqueous Cleaning, Reflow Profiling, Screen Printers, X-Ray, BGA Rework, etc.
