Responsibilities

About the Role:

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician (MET) is a full-time, onsite advanced manufacturing role focused on supporting CNC machining operations, manufacturing processes, production readiness, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement. This position is ideal for candidates searching for Manufacturing Engineering Technician, Manufacturing Technician, Engineering Technician, CNC Manufacturing Technician, or Manufacturing Engineering Support roles. The MET works closely with machinists, engineering, quality, and production teams to improve manufacturing processes and support precision component production in a regulated, quality-driven environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide hands‑on manufacturing engineering support for CNC machining, production processes, tooling, equipment, and day‑to‑day manufacturing operations.
  • Develop, document, and improve manufacturing methods, setup procedures, work instructions, process documentation, and production workflows.
  • Support CNC machine setups, process prove‑outs, first‑piece production, tooling selection, workholding, fixtures, and manufacturing readiness.
  • Troubleshoot complex machining, tooling, dimensional, equipment, and manufacturing process issues to minimize downtime and maintain production output.
  • Analyze manufacturing problems and implement corrective actions, process improvements, and sustainable solutions.
  • Support machinists and production personnel with technical guidance related to machining processes, setups, tooling, quality requirements, and process control.
  • Assist with new product introduction, process development, production launches, engineering changes, and transfer of new or revised components into manufacturing.
  • Partner with quality and engineering teams to ensure manufacturing processes meet engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and applicable quality requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve cycle time, productivity, scrap, tooling performance, equipment utilization, and overall manufacturing efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate manufacturing documentation and support continuous improvement initiatives in a regulated precision manufacturing environment.
Qualifications:
  • Experience as a Manufacturing Engineering Technician, Manufacturing Technician, Engineering Technician, CNC Machinist, Setup Machinist, or similar manufacturing professional.
  • Strong hands‑on knowledge of CNC machining, manufacturing processes, tooling, machine setups, workholding, fixtures, and production operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, dimensions, tolerances, and technical manufacturing specifications.
  • Experience troubleshooting machining, tooling, equipment, dimensional, and manufacturing process problems.
  • Knowledge of precision measurement equipment, first‑piece inspection, and in‑process quality verification.
  • Demonstrated ability to support manufacturing processes from setup and prove‑out through stable production.
  • Experience creating or maintaining work instructions, setup documentation, manufacturing procedures, or other technical documentation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, analytical thinking, root cause analysis, and hands‑on problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with manufacturing engineering, CNC machining, production, and quality teams.
  • Ability to work full time in an onsite precision manufacturing environment.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience with Mazak, Mazatrol, Swiss‑style CNC machines, multi‑axis machining, or similar advanced machining technologies.
  • Previous experience in medical device, aerospace, or another highly regulated precision manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting new product introduction, manufacturing process development, process validation, or production transfers.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, cycle‑time reduction, scrap reduction, and manufacturing efficiency initiatives.
  • Experience supporting complex, tight‑tolerance machined components.
  • CAD/CAM or CNC programming knowledge that can be applied to troubleshooting and manufacturing process support.
