Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Wamego, KS is seeking a Solar Turbines Manufacturing Engineering Tech to program machining centers, write detailed setup sheets, and mentor machinists.

Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.As a Solar Turbines Manufacturing Engineering Tech in Wamego, you will:Qualified individual will possess high skill levels in the use of Creo Engineering software andHas experience and/or will be required to learn and use Cimco and CAD Cam Software or various other offline machine programming packages.Programmer is required to develop a detailed set-up sheet and instructions for production of the components or units to accompany each program that they produce.Qualified individual must possess and maintain a high level of understanding in electronicFile organization, security, and maintenance.Will have primary responsibility for programming all Wamego machining centers utilized in the machining of components and sub-assemblies the FAB department.Required to read and correctly interpret simple and complex engineering drawings of components and sub-assemblies.Responsible for monitoring build schedule/dispatch list to ensure programs are complete and ready to execute based on OPD(order promise date)Responsibility for identifying all manufacturing challenges associated with machining components or sub-assemblies.Responsibility for ensuring that all components have a single secure proven program and that all files are always secured and backed up.Responsibility for advising and mentoring machinists in the proper use of each program as well as primary responsibility for ensuring that each program is not permanently modified by operators once it has been tested and verified.Position is responsible for building a strong positive working team environment between the p rogrammers and the machinists.Qualified individual will support shop requirements for development and testing of new tooling and drive adherence to tool life management.Candidate may be required to operate machines during their training period and beyond based on manpower and production needs.Minimum Qualifications:CNC machine experienceGeneral programming knowledgePreferred Qualifications:P rogramming experienceM achine troubleshootingClose date: 9/8/26Summary Pay Range:$26.15 - $39.23Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
