Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to provide support for Turbomachinery components at Solar Turbines’ Superior Gear facility in Gardena, CA.

You will develop manufacturing plans, design tooling, and lead process improvements to ensure efficient, high-quality production. Collaborating with design engineering, operations, quality, and supply chain, you will drive continuous improvement, support new product development, and manage automation and AI integration in processes.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or 5+ years machinist experience in lieu of degree.
• Excellent communication, collaborative, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
• Willing to support production schedules and work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide manufacturing engineering support for turbomachinery components manufacturing.
• Develop detailed manufacturing plans and process instructions; select tooling/fixtures.
• Lead quality investigations and apply SPC/GR&R/Cpk analysis for improvement.
• Support new product development for manufacturability and remanufacturing plans.
• Define capital needs and procure machines/equipment; drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include manufacturing planning, manufacturing process continuous improvement, first article proofing, tooling/fixture design, machine selection/requisition, process/quality control, and new product design and development support. The incumbent collaborates closely with fellow manufacturing engineers, design engineering, operations, quality, supply chain, planning, and facility engineering.
