Job summary

Hotstart, Inc. in Spokane, WA seeks a Manufacturing Engineering Tech to join our manufacturing engineering team. This hands-on role focuses on solving shop-floor problems, updating documentation, and supporting engineering projects.

You will work with production, quality, and engineers to troubleshoot issues, improve processes, review data, and participate in lean initiatives. A degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology or pursuing related engineering fields is required.

Qualifications

• Current degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology or pursuing Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable in both office and production-floor environments.
• Effective communication with production, engineers and other departments.
• Basic experience with Microsoft Office applications.
• Exposure to CAD, ERP/MRP, data analysis or programming is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with production staff and engineers to understand issues and craft practical shop-floor solutions.
• Update work instructions and manufacturing documentation as processes change.
• Support changes involving manufacturing operations, materials, labeling, and related information.
• Review and maintain manufacturing data, including current-material and backflush data.
• Participate in manufacturing improvement and lean projects.
• Develop and implement mistake-proofing and verification solutions.
• Support engineering projects through research, data gathering, testing and documentation.
• Engage in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing activities.

Job description

We are seeking a motivated Manufacturing Engineering Tech to join our manufacturing engineering team in Spokane, Washington. This position is designed for someone who enjoys hands-on experience solving real manufacturing problems and supporting day-to-day production.

The tech will work alongside manufacturing engineers, production personnel, quality, and other cross-functional team members to troubleshoot production issues, improve manufacturing processes, update manufacturing documentation, and assist with engineering projects.

Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work directly with production employees and manufacturing engineers to understand manufacturing issues and develop solutions that are practical for the shop floor.
• Assist with updating work instructions and manufacturing documentation as processes change
• Support engineering changes and change requests involving manufacturing operations, materials, labeling, and related production information.
• Assist with reviewing and maintaining manufacturing data, including current-material and backflush information
• Participate in manufacturing improvement and process-control projects
• Help develop and implement mistake-proofing and verification solutions
• Support engineering projects through research, data gathering, analysis, testing, and documentation
• Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing activities

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:

• Current degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology or currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering field
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working in both an office and production-floor environment
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with production employees, engineers, and other departments
• Basic experience with Microsoft Office applications
• Experience with CAD, ERP/MRP systems, data analysis, programming, or manufacturing equipment is beneficial but not required
• Willingness to learn and take ownership of assigned projects
