Summit Staffing is currently searching for qualified candidates for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician opportunity with one of our valued clients.

Our client designs and manufactures advanced compressed natural gas (CNG) fuel systems for the heavy-duty truck market. The company serves customers across a variety of industries, including refuse services and long-haul transportation, providing custom-designed fuel systems that support cost-effective, clean, and sustainable alternatives to traditional diesel applications.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager and is primarily responsible for assisting the manufacturing engineering team with the calculation, analysis, design, testing, evaluation, and implementation of various improvement projects throughout production and fabrication lines.

This position will help develop, implement, maintain, and improve manufacturing processes, methods, quality systems, and controls in accordance with product specifications and quality standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Support Manufacturing Engineers with production line improvements, workstation optimization, and process documentation.
• Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining work instructions, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and manufacturing process documentation.
• Collect, analyze, and report manufacturing and quality performance data.
• Perform product and process inspections to verify compliance with engineering specifications and quality standards.
• Assist with root cause analysis investigations using problem-solving methodologies such as 5 Why, Fishbone, and Pareto analysis.
• Support corrective and preventive action activities and verify the effectiveness of implemented solutions.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost reduction.
• Assist with validation of manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and equipment.
• Support nonconformance management activities, including documentation, containment, disposition, and tracking.
• Coordinate calibration activities for inspection and measurement equipment as required.
• Support new product introduction activities through manufacturing readiness and quality verification.
• Perform process audits and ensure compliance with company procedures and quality management systems.
• Collaborate with production personnel to resolve manufacturing and quality issues in a timely manner.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• Associate degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Quality Engineering Technology, Industrial Technology, Mechanical Technology, or a related technical field preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing, engineering, quality, or technical support environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience working with production processes, inspection methods, and quality systems is preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES

• Must obtain and maintain the applicable employee license with the Texas Railroad Commission and pass the required test within 45 days of hire.
• Must possess a current and valid driver's license with a driving record that meets applicable insurance requirements.
• OSHA 10/OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
• Working knowledge of CAD software is a plus.
