# Manufacturing Engineering TechnicianThe Manufacturing Engineering Technician will play a vital role in supporting our manufacturing processes and assisting our Engineering team. Under the guidance of engineering staff, the Technician will apply their technical knowledge to implement and improve production methods, troubleshoot issues, conduct tests, and collaborate on continuous improvement projects. The ideal candidate should have a strong grasp of manufacturing principles and processes, excellent problem-solving abilities, and the ability to work efficiently within a team.**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES**To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily:* Assist Manufacturing Engineers in designing and implementing manufacturing processes for products and components as well as optimize processes to achieve cost savings.* Set up, operate, and maintain various manufacturing equipment and tools.* Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during manufacturing processes.* Conduct tests and inspections to ensure product quality and adherence to specifications.* Analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and implement continuous process improvements.* Prepare and update manufacturing documentation, such as work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).* Monitor production lines and equipment trends, ensuring they operate efficiently and safely.* Assist in the training of production personnel on new processes and equipment.* Work closely with the engineering team to develop fixtures and in-line testers. Validate the effectiveness of these tools.* Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for any manufacturing issues.* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support process optimization and new product introductions.* Assist in the selection and procurement of manufacturing equipment and tools.* Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all manufacturing activities.* Comply with company ISO 14001 and 9001 requirements.* Other duties as assigned.Individuals who need reasonable accommodations to enable them to perform these essential functions should discuss their needs with Human Resources. EMS will provide reasonable accommodations to such individuals unless doing so would impose an undue hardship on EMS or the individual is a direct threat.**Supervisory Responsibilities**This position does not have supervisory responsibility.**QUALIFICATIONS**The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.**Education and/or Experience**:* Associate degree or diploma in Manufacturing Engineering Technology or a related field.**Computer Skills*** Proficiency in MS Office* Ability to navigate PDM & ERP systems to locate needed information.**Language Ability*** For business and safety reasons, ability to write reports and business correspondence in English and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, technicians, and assemblers in English.**Quality Commitment*** Assist the organization with establishing practices that align with ISO requirements.**Other Skills*** Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineering Technician or in a similar role is preferred.* Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, equipment, and best practices.* Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment and tools.* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve production issues.* Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.* Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with engineering and production teams.* Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.* Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations in a manufacturing environment.* Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced production setting.**Mathematical Ability*** Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts to engineering problems**Reasoning Ability*** Ability to apply principles of logic or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with non-verbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, etc.) Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**Physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.While performing the functions of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, stoop and kneel; use hands, reach with hands and arms; communicate clearly and effectively.
