Lee Spring is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our Headquarters team.

Lee Spring manufactures and distributes mechanical springs, wire forms, stampings, and fourslide parts worldwide. We offer an extensive product line of more than 25,000 inventoried products in various materials, available in stock and ready to ship. Additionally, we manufacture springs to customer specifications. Lee Spring is a premier global source for stock catalog and custom-designed mechanical springs and related products.

Founded by Robert Lee Johannsen in 1918, Lee Spring began in Brooklyn, New York. Our Global Headquarters remains in Brooklyn, with additional strategic locations across the United States, Europe, Latin America, and Asia. We are known for our extensive catalog of stock springs used by engineers, professionals, and buyers for decades, as well as our custom spring capabilities and experienced personnel.

Position overview:

The Manufacturing Engineer provides a crucial link between customer requirements and the final product. Responsibilities include defining product specifications, developing and implementing cost-effective manufacturing processes, and coordinating manufacturing and sourcing methods for new and existing products.

Responsibilities:

  1. Interpret customer production specifications from drawings, samples, or application requirements.
  2. Analyze product material and configuration specifications for suitability of form, fit, and function.
  3. Assess product specifications and tolerances in relation to quality and manufacturing capabilities.
  4. Determine manufacturing processes, including product structure, routing, outside services, and engineering standards.
  5. Define product and raw material codes with descriptions, standards, and revision levels.
  6. Prepare cost estimates to support sales and customer quotations.
  7. Develop factory documentation, including drawings.
  8. Design and develop primary and alternative manufacturing processes to meet design requirements.
  9. Define scheduling parameters such as lead times, batch sizes, and material requirements.
  10. Collaborate with production and quality personnel.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial or mechanical engineering.
  • 3-5 years of related experience.
  • Knowledge of mechanical manufacturing processes, including assembly and testing.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Fluency in English.
