Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of CNC programming experience.
  • 1–3 years managing projects supervising 4+ personnel.
  • Exceptional command of English (written and spoken).
  • Strong knowledge of aerospace fabrication, assembly, and GD&T.
  • Lean principles experience preferred.
  • Ability to read engineering specs and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of 4–10 manufacturing engineers and programmers; set priorities and drive accountability.
  • Drive Lean manufacturing to maximize efficiency and reduce cycle times.
  • Partner with Engineering on new product releases for tooling integration and cost-effective assembly.
  • Provide technical oversight for daily floor issues and MRB dispositions.
  • Maintain accurate work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100 quality standards and safety metrics.

This position demands an agile leader who can balance daily operational firefighting with long-term strategic initiatives. You will drive continuous improvement on the production floor by applying Lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste, reduce cycle time, and maximize throughput. Working closely with Quality, Engineering, and Operations will play a pivotal role.

Compensation And Benefits Offered

Actual base salary offered to the selected applicant will be based on their work location, qualifications, job related skills, relevant education, and training experience.

Base salary range Minimum $120,000 - Maximum $124,000

Job Duties And Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership
    • Manage daily priorities, workloads, and task execution for a team of 4-10 manufacturing engineers, including programmers.
    • Establish and foster a culture of accountability.
  • Process Optimization & lean implementation
    • Maximize efficiency through semi-autonomous machining techniques.
    • Drive process improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing methodologies, value stream mapping, and Six Sigma principles, eliminating waste and reducing cycle times.
  • Design for Manufacturability
    • Partner closely with Engineering to review new product development releases, ensuring optimal tooling integration, CNC programming, and cost-effective assembly logic.
  • Production Support & MRB
    • Provide technical oversight for daily floor issues.
    • Serve as the POC member of the Material Review Board (MRB) to evaluate, troubleshoot, and disposition nonconforming hardware and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Documentation Control for the Department
    • Oversee the accuracy and maintenance of manufacturing work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Ensure all manufacturing engineering and programming activities comply with corporate safety metrics, environmental regulations, and AS9100 quality management standards.
Qualification Requirements
  • Education/Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in Mechanical, Aerospace, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or related field.
    • 5+ years of experience in an engineering role
    • 5+ years of CNC Programming experience
    • 1-3 years of experience managing projects in a supervisory role overseeing 4+ personnel
  • Language Skills
    • Exceptional command of the English language, both written and spoken.
    • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and memos.
    • Ability to write technical documentation.
  • Technical Skills
    • Strong understanding of aerospace fabrication design, assembly, and GD&T
    • Strong background in planning and scheduling by setting timelines, organizing daily tasks, and tracking project goals.
    • Training in lean principles is preferred
    • Background in problem-solving methodology. (8D, A3, Fishbone, 5-whys, etc.)
  • Computer/ Office Skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP/Inventory systems.
    • Strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, manufacturing, and fabrication processes
    • Proficiency in Blueprint reading, including GD&T
    • Proficiency in reading Engineering specs and procedures.
