Job summary

Vulcan Elements Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead a team of manufacturing engineers in scaling production for high-technology magnets.

You will own equipment lifecycle from technology evaluation to ramp and qualification, collaborating with vendors, facilities, and quality teams to ensure safe, reliable manufacturing. The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, project management, and a strong background in capital equipment execution within a high-volume setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, Automation, Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 7+ years of manufacturing engineering or related experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience specifying, purchasing, installing, commissioning, and launching complex manufacturing equipment or production systems.
• Strong understanding of process capability, cycle time, throughput, yield, OEE, PFMEA, Control Plans, and process flows.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Manufacturing Engineers. Establish priorities, assign ownership, remove roadblocks, and meet milestones.
• Lead evaluation and selection of manufacturing technologies to scale production; evaluate capability, throughput, quality, automation, cost, and scalability.
• Lead equipment specifications, RFQs, technical evaluations, quote comparisons, vendor assessments, and equipment selection.
• Provide technical leadership through FAT, SAT, installation, and production qualification; drive safe, effective ramp.
• Coordinate with vendors, facilities, operations, controls, maintenance, EHS, quality to ensure equipment is brought into production.
• Drive continuous improvement to increase throughput, yield, quality, and OEE; use data and structured problem solving.
