Job summary

Lear Corporation is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Roscommon, MI plant to lead advanced manufacturing engineering, drive process improvements, and coordinate multi-functional teams. The role emphasizes equipment upgrades, design reviews, and implementation of quality standards in a high-volume environment.

The candidate will manage projects, supervise staff, and work with vendors to ensure efficient production, reliability, and safety compliance.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
5+ years working in the Engineering function.
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of principles, theories, and practices of engineering.
Knowledge of regulatory codes and standards (GMP, OSHA, NEC, NFPA).
Knowledge of Electrical Engineering to understand system interactions and equipment sizing.
Knowledge of safety and quality systems.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate assigned functions and programs within the Engineering and Maintenance Department to improve manufacturing processes.
Develop and review plans, budgets, and schedules; ensure MTBF and MTTR targets.
Lead design reviews, equipment upgrades, and process improvements; coordinate with staff and vendors.
Oversee preventive maintenance and repair responsibilities; liaise with corporate engineering resources.
Drive continuous improvement and implement new standards across the organization.
