Job summary

Carnegie Search is hiring a Manufacturing Engineering Manager for the Portland, TN facility. You will lead the manufacturing engineering team, manage resources, and drive safety, quality, delivery and cost objectives, including budget controls, tooling design and capital projects.

You will recruit and develop staff, provide performance feedback, and mentor future leaders while partnering with operations and quality teams to sustain world-class productivity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Ten years of experience in precision manufacturing, preferably metal related.
  • Knowledge of work standards and disciplines for world-class quality and productivity.
  • Basic motion and time study background to evaluate shop methods and cycle times.

Responsibilities

  • Manages all resources to achieve safety, quality, delivery and cost objectives.
  • Ensures safety and quality standards; collaborates with Safety Compliance Manager and Quality/Engineering teams.
  • Ensures on-time delivery to internal and external customers.
  • Recruits, interviews, hires and trains staff; provides performance evaluations; mentors future leaders.

Job description

Carnegie Search is hiring for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager position in Portland, TN!

This company is a global market leader in the product it designs and manufactures. This is a leadership position that will join the management team of a facility with around 200 full time employees.

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager manages assigned resources and provides directions to direct reports in a manner that ensures all safety, quality, delivery, and cost (efficiency and continuous improvements) objectives are achieved. Responsible for budget controls, tooling design and capital projects implementation, in a manner that supports and benefits production output.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manages all resources in a harmonious manner that promotes and cultivates an atmosphere that emphasizes teamwork, respect, accountability, and a desire to improve all People, Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost objectives.
  • Ensures all Safety standards, process and procedures are followed, work directly with Safety Compliance Manager as needed to improve existing program/procedures to ensure all Safety objectives are regularly exceeded. Ensures all Quality standards, process and procedures are followed, works directly with Quality and Engineering Departments as needed to improve existing program/procedures to ensure all Quality objectives are regularly exceeded.
  • Ensures on-time delivery to all internal and external customers.
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department. Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations. Develops, fosters and leads/mentors team to achieve significant results and develop future leaders/managers.
Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required. Master’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering preferred.
  • Engineering Management in Manufacturing, Power Transmission products exposure
  • Ten years of experience in precision manufacturing, preferably metal related.
  • Knowledge of work standards, quality standards, and disciplines required for world class quality and productivity.
  • Basic motion and time study background to evaluate shop methods and cycle times.
