Job summary

SkyWater is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join a growing North Metro team. This brand-new role reports to the VP of Operations and will help build the manufacturing engineering function across facilities.

You’ll lead capacity expansion, new product introduction, and process improvements on the production floor. The ideal candidate has 7+ years in manufacturing engineering, 2+ years leading teams, and hands-on experience with equipment selection, fixturing, BOMs, and routings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering.
• 7+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• 2+ years leading teams (directly or indirectly).
• Hands-on background in equipment selection, fixturing, process design, BOMs/routings.
• Experience with capital equipment projects and capacity expansion is preferred.
• Lean manufacturing knowledge; Lean or Six Sigma certification a plus.
• Background in mechanical assembly, plastics or fabrication preferred.
• Strong cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead capacity expansion, throughput, and cost reduction across multiple manufacturing sites.
• Manage capital equipment projects and oversee budgets & timelines.
• Lead equipment selection, fixture design, plant layout, and process flow for new & existing product lines.
• Oversee new product introduction, including BOMs, routings, and standard work.
• Standardize best practices across facilities and support lean/continuous improvement system.
• Lead and develop a manufacturing engineering team, with room to grow headcount as business expands.
• Partner with operations, quality, and supply chain leaders and influence cross-functional project teams.
• Define and track KPIs for productivity, efficiency, and project results.
• Support the launch of new facilities and production lines as the business grows.

This is a brand-new position created as the company continues to expand its manufacturing footprint. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will report directly to the VP of Operations and help build out the manufacturing engineering function across multiple facilities. The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will be the go-to technical manufacturing leader for their manufacturing sites, and will have the chance to help launch new facilities & grow the manufacturing engineering function over time.
