Job summary

Plug Power is seeking a Manager, Manufacturing Engineering to lead the Manufacturing Engineering team, drive continuous improvement, and increase output, quality, and efficiency through cross‑functional collaboration. You will develop and implement processes, define KPIs, manage a budget, and mentor staff to achieve Lean manufacturing and 5S standards in a high‑performing facility.

This role requires strong problem solving, DFMA/PFMEA experience, and a track record of delivering cost reductions

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field required.
Minimum 7 years of engineering experience with at least 2 years of formal supervising experience.
Proven track record of managing teams and driving manufacturing improvement projects.
Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure situations.
Strong interpersonal skills and leadership capabilities.
Experience with 5S and workplace organization.
Proficiency with ERP systems, MS Excel and MS Access.
Ability to balance multiple projects and manage budgets.

Responsibilities

Propose and evaluate alternative designs from a manufacturing perspective using DFMA, PFMEA and lean principles.
Review engineering drawings and evaluate tooling, processes, and materials with team and suppliers.
Identify and implement manufacturing methods, tooling and equipment for new/changed products.
Analyze procedures and coordinate projects to improve cost and quality.
Coordinate with Production to support process needs and training.
Lead New Product Introduction for manufacturability, reliability and serviceability.
Develop and maintain equipment management processes and KPI tracking.
Ensure timely disposition of non-conforming material with quality.
Maintain manufacturing process performance metrics and provide regular updates.
Represent Plug Power professionally and support customer satisfaction.
Perform other duties as assigned.
