Job summary

Excelitas Technologies, located in Boulder, Colorado, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to recruit, develop, and lead a high-performance engineering team. The role focuses on yield improvement, process optimization, and cross-functional collaboration with R&D and manufacturing.

You will drive project priorities, facilitate technical reviews, and mentor engineers while ensuring safe, efficient, and on-time execution of programs in a fast-paced photonics environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Physics, or related field required.
• MS in Engineering, Physics, Business, Engineering Management or related field preferred.
• 8+ years of industry experience.
• 3+ years of leadership experience.
• Six Sigma green or black belt a plus.
• Strong communication and cross-functional coordination abilities.
• Lean manufacturing knowledge and continuous improvement history.
• Ability to read drawings for coated optics and assess manufacturability.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage workload of the Engineering team and report progress.
• Set project priorities to improve yield, cycle time, on-time delivery and cost.
• Lead continuous yield improvement efforts with cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with peers, production managers and leaders to drive improvements.
• Advance process technology knowledge and cross-training across the team.
• Identify opportunities for cross-functional improvements and lead efforts.
• Ensure engineering aligns with manufacturing and facilities maintenance.
• Support R&D transfer of new processes to manufacturing and ECO/NPI activities.
