Job summary

Teledyne Qioptiq in Ohio is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to lead a team of 11 engineers and technicians, drive efficiency, mentor staff, and meet schedules and quality goals under the Director of Operations.

You will manage performance reviews, budgets, and cross-functional initiatives, applying Lean and Six Sigma to improve yield, reduce costs, and enable world-class manufacturing.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years management experience.
• Must be able to work with other engineering groups to solve complex issues.
• Experience managing and mentoring engineers and technicians.
• Demonstrated Leadership skills including supervisory, verbal and written communication, organizational and reasoning skills.
• Program management experience on large-scale projects with multiple engineering disciplines.
• Experience in at least 3 of the following processes: mechanical assembly, electronics soldering/assembly, encapsulation, sealing, tracer gas leak testing, machining, welding, high voltage testing.
• Experience with systems qualification to defense safety standards.
• Ability to multitask across multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor the Manufacturing Engineering department to improve efficiency and productivity.
• Oversee hiring, training, and performance reviews.
• Plan, assign, and direct work; administer merit increases.
• Provide regular status reports on programs and projects.
• Forecast schedules and costs with cross-functional teams.
• Ensure compliance with schedules, budgets, and policies.
• Drive Lean and Six Sigma continuous improvement across operations.
• Collaborate with other departments to align project plans.
