Job summary

Allison Transmission in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern for Summer 2026 to gain hands-on experience in developing and implementing cost-effective manufacturing processes that meet product specifications and quality standards.

You will assist in improving production equipment, study requirements, and participate in the design, development and testing of manufacturing methods, under supervision.

Qualifications

• Education Requirement: College undergraduate or graduate status with 1-3 years at an accredited college or university, pursuing an academic field of study related to Engineering, Engineering Technology, or other technological fields of study.
• Strong oral and written communication skills are required.
• Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
• Analytical ability to solve complex problems.
• Due to ITAR, Intern must be a United States Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of manufacturing systems with the focus on continuous improvement related to quality and throughput capability of production equipment.
• Work is of a technical nature where decisions are made within general practices and procedures, where supervision is available.
• Assist in the design, development, and/or improvement of manufacturing processes.
• Study product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
