Job summary

Hermeus is seeking an undergraduate STEM student for a paid internship focused on supporting manufacturing, tooling, and documentation for rapid prototyping of high‑speed aircraft. You will work with engineers and technicians on hardware build, integration, and production activities.

Responsibilities include assisting root‑cause investigations, evaluating designs for manufacturability, and helping to develop test procedures. The role offers hands‑on learning in a defense aviation context.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a STEM program at an accredited college or university.
• Hands-on experience designing, building, testing, or manufacturing hardware.
• Strong understanding of engineering first principles and interest in vehicle hardware.
• Familiarity with manufacturing, assembly, testing, CAD, GD&T concepts.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and GPA 3.0 or above.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the transition of hardware from development into production.

About The Role

Spring: Around 16 weeks (January - April)

Summer: Around 12 weeks (May - August)

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled in a STEM program at an accredited college or university (undergraduate student in your third or fourth year of study, or enrolled in a Master's or Ph.D. program).
• Hands-on experience designing, building, testing, or manufacturing hardware through internships, coursework, research, competition teams, or personal projects
• Strong understanding of engineering first principles and interest in vehicle hardware
• Familiarity with manufacturing, assembly, testing, CAD, technical drawings, or GD&T
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Enthusiasm for aviation and Hermeus's mission
• GPA of 3.0 or above

$25 - $33 an hour

The hourly rate listed for this internship is intended as a general guideline. Final compensation will be determined based on degree level.
