Job summary

CNH is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Intern in Grand Island, Nebraska, for a fully on-site internship/co-op program. The role offers hands-on exposure to process improvements, data analysis, and equipment evaluations within a manufacturing setting, working alongside experienced engineers.

Summer interns work full-time (40 hours/week) from May through August, with mentorship, training, and housing support provided.

Responsibilities

• Support manufacturing engineers in analyzing, developing, and improving production processes to enhance safety, quality, delivery, and productivity.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and problem-solving methodologies.
• Collect, organize, and analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for operational improvements.
• Participate in time studies, workflow analysis, and line balancing activities to improve manufacturing efficiency.
• Support the development and maintenance of standard work instructions, process documentation, and training materials.
• Assist with plant floor projects involving equipment layouts, workstation ergonomics, material flow, and process optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Safety to support manufacturing objectives.
• Assist with capital improvement projects, including project planning, process mapping, equipment evaluations, and implementation activities.
• Create and present project updates, data summaries, and recommendations to engineering and operations leadership

Job Purpose

As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern, you will support the team by assisting with process improvement projects, data collection and analysis, workflow optimization, equipment evaluations, and manufacturing documentation. This role provides hands‑on exposure to real‑world engineering challenges and offers the opportunity to contribute to initiatives that improve productivity, quality, safety, and cost performance. The intern will work alongside experienced engineers to develop technical, problem‑solving, and project management skills while gaining valuable experience in a manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities

Pay Transparency

The hourly pay range for this position is $23.69 - $27.81 per hour.
