Job summary

Bosch North America’s Charleston automotive plant offers a coop opportunity for engineering students to assist on production lines, identify gaps, and support capacity and demand improvements. You will develop software tools, update drawings, and help create and maintain manufacturing documents as part of a hands-on, project-driven team.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor's in Engineering with interest in automotive manufacturing, automation, and data-driven improvements, and able to

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, mechanical, Electrical Engineering preferred).
• Strong interest in special machinery, industrial automation, or manufacturing systems, particularly within the automotive industry.
• Familiarity with engineering principles, concept development, and system-level thinking.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Identification and coordination of problem solving or troubleshooting activities on equipment or process issues.
• Communication through operational and departmental management on project status.
• Development of software tools to improve data transparency.
• Developing plan for production trials, with focus on equipment and process quality and technical documentation.
• Assisting with training and documentation with hourly and salaried associates.
• Troubleshoot production problems and their root causes.
• Update machine drawings to improve equipment robustness or stability.
• Help to develop and maintain manufacturing documentation and quality plans according to company standards.
