Job summary

Elanco, a global leader in animal health, seeks an Engineering Consultant - Mechanical/HVAC at the Fort Dodge manufacturing site. You will lead capital projects, support HVAC and mechanical utilities, and ensure cGMP compliance while delivering right-first-time project results.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in engineering or an equivalent combination with experience in industrial environments, strong collaboration, and proficiency with AutoCAD tools and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field with 2 years of relevant experience, OR an associate's degree with 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience supporting mechanical, HVAC, facility utilities, capital projects, or engineering systems in industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Experience with HVAC/mechanical systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering-related software or control systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support capital projects involving HVAC, mechanical utilities, piping systems, and clean room design from planning through commissioning and startup.
• Author and review engineering documentation including URS, FRS, feasibility studies, drawings and qualification documents.
• Oversee project execution by reviewing contractor submittals, monitoring installation quality, managing schedules and budgets, ensuring right-first-time delivery.
• Maintain HVAC systems in a validated cGxP state by supporting regulatory compliance, Elanco standards, and industry best practices.
• Drive continuous improvement and utility optimization initiatives while providing technical support and troubleshooting for mechanical and HVAC systems.
