Job summary

PBS Aerospace Inc. is seeking a hardware-focused engineer to join a fast-growing defense-focused organization in Georgia.

You will work at the intersection of design, manufacturing, and test to advance small turbine engine tech while collaborating with design, operations, and quality teams. The role emphasizes hands-on manufacturing on the production floor, process improvements, and cross-functional cooperation to meet aggressive timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, or related Engineering discipline.
• 0–5 years of hands-on hardware experience (internships/co-ops accepted).
• Experience using 3D CAD software for modelling and assemblies (Creo preferred).
• Knowledge of drafting practices – GD&T per ASME standards.
• Interest or experience in gas turbine engine technology and turbomachinery design, operation, and failure modes.

Responsibilities

• Lead detailed project scopes for multiple products to support aggressive timelines and production volume.
• Develop and qualify detailed assembly work instructions and continuously improve existing instructions.
• Support tracking production metrics such as takt time, cycle time, and yield.
• Apply process improvement methods to reduce build hours, improve quality, and increase production rates.
• Collaborate with technicians and engineering to improve training and reduce non-conformities.
• Own manufacturing design scopes from ideation through execution and validation on tooling fixtures for accuracy and repeatability.
• Work on the production floor supporting engine assembly, fluid testing, and engine acceptance testing.
• Lead root-cause analyses and coordinate with Design, Production, Quality, and other teams.
