Job summary

Wayne Fueling Systems LLC is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Tech to support Manufacturing, Design Engineering, and production teams onsite in Austin, TX. The role involves implementing manufacturing instructions, reviewing ECOs for BOM structures, and assisting with pfMEA and Lean initiatives.

The candidate should have a GED or high school diploma and 3+ years of manufacturing experience, with proficiency in reading technical docs and basic math.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret safety, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and other technical documentation.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and interpret graphs.
• Team-oriented with strong computer, equipment, and procedural knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to Manufacturing Engineers, Design Engineering, and production departments.
• Supports development, routing, and implementation of manufacturing instructions to assemble products.
• Reviews and approves Engineering Change Orders for BOM structures and assigns labor hours to MES.
• Reviews documentation such as manufacturing procedures, BOMs, drawings, and routings.
• Assists with pfMEA development to identify failures and makes recommendations to engineers.
• Provides guidance for preventive maintenance and general repair on equipment or machinery.
• Provides specialized training to production employees and technical direction to production trainer.
• Assists in prototype development by debugging, modifications, assembly, and testing.
• Reports metrics and KPIs.
• Participates in Lean initiatives and uses Six Sigma tools for improvements.
• Interacts with Quality, Maintenance, Production, Safety and other internal departments.

Required Skills / Knowledge

• Completion of a High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 3+ years related experience or training in manufacturing; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization
• Ability to read Engineering drawings and other technical documentation
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Able to be a team player
• Strong working knowledge of computers, equipment, and procedures.
