Job summary

Kaidi LLC in Grand Haven, MI seeks a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer to optimize steel fabrication, powder coating, and assembly operations. You will apply engineering principles to establish and continuously improve processes, determine machines, equipment, tools, and sequences for production.

You will collaborate with design, operations, and quality teams to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and keep equipment running at peak performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering related to manufacturing.
• 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or related field.
• Experience in steel furniture manufacturing is a plus.
• Ability to read and develop electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
• Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, testing methods, and vendors.
• Identify issues and implement solutions for the manufacturing process or equipment.
• Monitor production metrics to drive continuous improvement and reduce downtime.
• Provide cost data by calculating production, labor, and material costs.
• Support Production Technicians with troubleshooting complex machine and process issues.
• Prepare product/process reports by collecting and summarizing information and trends.
• Assist quality team with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Design or source manufacturing tools, equipment, and fixtures.
• Produce documentation, work instructions, and training materials for shop floor use.
• Maintain product and process databases by writing programs and data entry.
• Coordinate new product introductions with multidisciplinary teams.
• Generate specifications, validation plans, and acceptance criteria for new equipment, materials, and processes.
